Andrew A. Lewis, Principal, Keystone Risk Partners, LLC. Andy has over 30 years of experience in providing alternative market solutions to agents and brokers throughout the country. He has structured hundreds of innovative programs across all industry segments and lines of coverage for a variety of different corporate, nonprofit, group, and association clients. Andy has a deep understanding of captives, rent-a-captives, as well as more traditional risk financing vehicles. As an owner and investor in a number of businesses, Andy has the insight to be able to translate an operational objective of an owner into an alternative insurance structure for their business.
Before establishing Keystone Risk Partners, LLC, Andy was an Executive Vice President of Commonwealth Risk Services, which was the sales and marketing arm of Mutual Risk Management (MRM), a global provider of insurance and financial services. Andy joined MRM in 1989 and quickly emerged as the top producer, leading the company in virtually every sales category. Andy and his sales teams were one of the main catalysts that allowed MRM to be the first Bermuda domiciled company to go public on the NYSE in 1991 and achieve over a decade of impressive growth.
Prior to joining MRM, Andy worked for Fidelity Bank as a credit analyst and Drexel Burnham Lambert as an account executive. Andy graduated with a BA in Economics from Swarthmore College. Andy was very active with coaching youth sports and has served on a number of both non- and for-profit boards.
Douglas F. Deitch, Principal, Keystone Risk Partners, LLC. Doug has over 25 years of experience in the development, implementation, and management of alternative risk financing solutions for larger insureds and their insurance professionals. As one of the founding principals of Keystone Risk Partners, Doug has successfully structured programs for insurance challenges over a breadth of industry classifications including: professional baseball and football franchises, nursing homes and other healthcare institutions, manufacturing, hospitality, property managers, transportation, and financial services companies.
One of Doug’s areas of expertise is in using captives as a tool for providing greater transparency into insurance cash flows, liability accrual strategies, and meeting collateral requirements as an alternative to restricting working capital for insureds that assume risk within their commercial insurance program. These innovative financial solutions, particularly for privately held companies, often go beyond solving the initial insurance challenge facing customer.
Prior to establishing Keystone, Doug was as a Senior Vice President and Production Team Leader for Commonwealth Risk Services, the sales and marketing arm of Mutual Risk Management, a global provider of insurance and financial services.
Doug graduated from Lafayette College with a BA in Economics.
John T. Naughton, CPCU, Principal, Keystone Risk Partners. John brings over 25 years of alternative market underwriting and production experience to Keystone’s individual risk and group captive customers. A true believer in the adage; “know your territory”, John spends a considerable amount of his time meeting with agents and business owners throughout the country.
John is a frequent speaker on the topic of Captives and most recently served on the Alternative Risk Committee of SIIA. He is currently on the board of several Tennessee based member-owned group captives.
Prior to joining Keystone Risk in 2006, John was an owner of Innovative Captive Strategies, a Des Moines, IA based firm. While at ICS, John focused his time on the formation of captive programs for both large businesses as well as groups of medium sized businesses. John’s career also includes 10 years at Commonwealth Risk Services where he served as Senior Vice President. John began his career as a National Account Underwriter with CIGNA.
John is a graduate of West Chester University with a BS in Business Management and holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation.
Cynthia J. Burks, CPCU, Principal, Keystone Risk Partners. Cindy is primarily responsible for cultivating and managing strategic market relationships as well as facilitating complicated casualty and excess placements in the marketplace. She brings a wealth of national account experience in sales and underwriting along with strategic relationships with partner insurance and reinsurance companies.
Most recently she was employed as an Assistant Vice President of Commonwealth Risk Services and was responsible for the structuring of risk financing arrangements and production of large-account casualty business. Her background includes nine years of experience in the production underwriting of complex national accounts on the casualty side with Reliance National.
Cindy is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and a graduate of Swarthmore College with a BA in Economics.
Rory Stackpole, Vice President, Keystone Risk Partners, LLC. Rory has a decade of experience with Keystone after joining the business right out of college. Rory’s responsibilities focus on coordinating the relationships between our clients, our captive management team, and the reinsurance relationships needed for our captives. This start-to-finish expertise lets Rory bring the right understanding of the insurance market, underwriting knowledge, and insurance company accounting to a prospective client so that their unique financial needs are addressed early in the process.
Rory has also developed Keystone’s proprietary claims and analytics database to help support our Risk Mitigation model and bring efficiency to the data-oriented side of Keystone. Through the creation of this database, Keystone has been able to identify meaningful trends in the underwriting results of our clients and helped analyze overall trends we may see in our property and casualty book of business.
Alan Pcsolyar, Senior Vice President, Keystone Risk Partners, LLC. Since joining Keystone Risk Partners in 2006, Alan has applied a thorough knowledge of insurance company operations, supported by extensive experience in alternative market structures, to the construction of programs built to meet a particular client’s objectives.
In 2004, Alan helped create Program Placement Consultants to bring solutions to smaller P&C Program Administrators who’d witnessed a steady erosion of market options in the post-9/11 era. Prior to founding PPC, Alan was Senior Vice President with Legion Insurance Company, a Mutual Risk Management (MRM) subsidiary in Philadelphia. During Legion’s rehabilitation and liquidation, he managed external communications for policy and premium issues and provided underwriting support and analysis for arbitrations, litigation and program managers. Prior-operating functions included management of the relationships between Legion and its program sponsors, the formation of the “Execution Team” responsible for ongoing program development and management, and providing technical consulting to the sales force as its emphasis on program business expanded.
From 1990 until shortly following its acquisition by MRM in 1996, Alan was a co-founder and President of Prowriter, a start-up division of Professional Underwriters Corporation (PUC) in Wayne, PA where he was responsible for the development and management of program business. Alan had joined PUC in 1983 as a founding partner and Team Leader, managing the production-underwriting process of a heterogeneous, commercial property and casualty agency captive on behalf of Crum & Forster, Orion, Zurich-American, and Royal Insurance.
Alan began his career in 1973 with Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association Insurance Company (PMA) in Philadelphia, PA as an underwriter. He held several positions prior to becoming Director of Product Development in 1980.
Alan has an MBA in Organization & Management from Temple University, Philadelphia and a B.S. in Mathematics from Pennsylvania State University. He was a Director of the Insurance Society of Philadelphia from 1997-99.
Jay S. Peichel, Principal, Keystone Risk Partners. Since KRP’s inception, Jay has focused on building Keystone’s risk mitigation platform for large loss-sensitive clients. Jay created V2 Compass, a consulting platform that utilizes proprietary tools to analyze and contrast clients and service providers’ historical loss data against industry benchmarks. The online portal provides dashboards on TCOR, claim, payment and pharmacy data to provide depth in a client’s understanding of trends and performance drivers. In addition, V2 works with employers, groups and agents to help understand where the loss dollar goes and help employers bridge the gap between their losses and actuarial loss analysis. We are leaders in designing and implementing data-driven solutions that result in better claim outcomes for those clients that assume a portion of their own risk. In the process, Keystone has validated and partnered with certain service providers that are critical components to Keystone’s recommended risk mitigation platform based on their best practice results.
Prior to forming KRP, Jay was employed as a Vice President of Commonwealth Risk Services (CRS). Jay produced and managed some of the more complicated financial structures that have required the technical knowledge of insurance company processes. Prior to CRS, Jay was a Senior Casualty Underwriter for Reliance National Insurance Company. Jay is a National McCabe scholar and a graduate of Swarthmore College with a BA in Economics.
Elizabeth B. Mallon, Senior Vice President, Keystone Risk Partners. With over 30 years of alternative risk financing experience, Betsy is responsible for analyzing, designing, marketing, managing, and servicing a significant and varied book of alternative risk business in concert with her Keystone production team. Betsy is highly regarded by both clients and brokers as a tremendous resource in the development and management of these sophisticated structures.
In addition to her responsibilities of managing a portfolio of businesses, Betsy’s alternative market experience has been valuable in the creation of Keystone’s turnkey funded products that provide cost effective solutions for insureds looking to comply with state or vendor insurance requirements.
Prior to joining Keystone, Betsy was employed as an Assistant Vice President of Commonwealth Risk Services (CRS). While at CRS, Betsy consistently led the company in renewal retention and customer satisfaction as a valuable member of her production team. Betsy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Juniata College.
Eric Bruhn, Senior Vice President, Keystone Risk Partners. Eric has been with the company since 2003 and has played an integral role in account management. His primary responsibilities include analysis, preparation, marketing, managing and servicing of accounts within a large and varied book of alternative risk business. Eric has brought with him a wealth of underwriting and management experience within the commercial insurance industry, including four years within the alternative risk financing arena as an assistant vice president with Commonwealth Risk Services and 16 years of large account multi-line casualty underwriting with AIG and Cigna. Eric’s analytical and technical skills, combined with strong marketing and relationship skills, have proven effective in being a key asset to Keystone Risk Partners.
Eric is a graduate of Rutgers College with a BA in Economics, and received his MBA from Rutgers in 1997.
Kevin Moulton, Assistant Vice President, Keystone Risk Partners, LLC. Kevin’s primary responsibilities consist of servicing Keystone’s alternative risk financing customers and their agent partners as well as working with carriers throughout their underwriting process. He is also involved in the educational process for new business and has started a few internal educational programs at Keystone Risk Partners.
Prior to joining Keystone, Kevin worked as a Financial Analyst while completing his Masters of Business Administration from Wilkes University. Additionally, Kevin graduated Summa Cum Laude from King’s College in which he played soccer for four years and was named to the MAC All-Conference First Team.
Nate Booth, Account Executive, Keystone Risk Partners, LLC. Nate joined Keystone in the summer of 2016 after graduating from Swarthmore College. While there, Nate studied Economics and Statistics and was an All-Conference pitcher for the Swarthmore baseball team. Nate also had the opportunity to study in Barcelona for a semester.
As an Account Executive, Nate’s primary focus is providing support for Keystone’s clients and their broker partners. He works on gathering underwriting data, modeling projected losses and collateral needs, coordinating with underwriters, analyzing claims data, assessing risk mitigation techniques, and managing other day-to-day account needs of Keystone's clients. His favorite part of working at Keystone is looking into new business opportunities and learning about new risks and their unique exposures/insurance needs.
Nate is currently pursuing his CPCU and Cyber COPE Insurance Certification designations.
Joel Pina, Chief Financial Officer, Keystone Risk Partners. Joel joined Keystone in 2004. Prior to joining Keystone, Joel was the CFO at Preferred Real Estate Investments, a $1BB+ privately-held developer, owner and operator of commercial real estate with a portfolio of 8MM square feet. He was responsible for all aspects of financial management at Preferred. Prior to that, he was a founder, Chairman and CFO at i-Open, a venture-backed, new media company providing digital signage software and solutions to major retailers throughout the U.S. His activity included cultivating business relationships and negotiating contracts with premier retail clients and advertisers, along with guiding the process to successfully raise $8 million through multiple rounds of financing. Joel was also the CFO for Graham Partners, a $225MM LBO fund that engages in leveraged acquisitions, joint ventures, growth capital investments and other equity-related investments. During his tenure, Joel was actively involved in all stages of due diligence, transaction structuring, financing, and post-closing financial monitoring of portfolio companies. Prior to joining Graham, Joel had very successful tenures as Manager in charge of Worldwide Tax Reporting and Planning at ARCO Chemical, and prior to that as a Senior Tax Manager at Price Waterhouse.
Joel earned his B.S. degree in Business Management and Accounting from Boston College, where he participated in the S.O.M. Honors Program and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Joel earned a Masters of Taxation from Villanova University, where he graduated with honors, and his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, where he was a Director’s List student. Joel is a former CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the Self-Insured Institute of America and active in its Enterprise Committee.
Lisa Jarvis, Account Coordinator & Office Manager, Keystone Risk Partners. Lisa’s primary responsibilities consist of maintaining KRP’s databases, providing assistance on all accounts including analyzing submissions, coordination with partner brokers, billing, audit reconciliations and policy review. In addition, Lisa is responsible for all human resource functions and day to day management of office administration. Prior to joining Keystone, Lisa was a Program Administrator at Commonwealth Risk, working closely with Andy Lewis. In this capacity she was responsible for evaluating new business opportunities, analyzing loss data, assisting in the renewal process, and maintaining contact with brokers to ensure broker and client satisfaction. Lisa is a graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia and St. Monica’s School of Business.
Jamie Poole, MBA, Accounting Manager, Keystone Risk Partners. Jamie’s primary responsibilities include maintaining the books and records of the entities under management by Keystone’s captive manager, KRP Managers. Jamie prepares or assists in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for each of these entities.
Prior to joining Keystone, Jamie was a senior accountant with Reimbursement Technologies Incorporated in Conshohocken, PA. During his tenure there, Jamie was responsible for processing payroll, overseeing accounts payable, and assisting with month-end financials. He also worked on testing software upgrades in the Accounting department.
Jamie earned both his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and MBA from Arcadia University.
Gayle Drais, CPA, Vice President/Controller, Keystone Risk Partners. Gayle’s primary responsibilities include maintaining the books and records of the entities under management by Keystone’s captive manager, KRP Managers. She is also responsible for the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for each of these entities. Gayle also provides assistance to the CFO with various accounting and finance functions for Keystone.
Prior to joining Keystone, Gayle was a senior manager at Siana, Carr, O’Connor & Lynam, LLP (SCOL), a public accounting firm in Paoli, PA. During her tenure there, Gayle participated and supervised all facets of independent audits, reviews and compilations for a wide-ranging client base of privately held companies and not-for-profit entities. Gayle also was responsible for the preparation of federal, state and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals and not-for-profits. Prior to joining SCOL, Gayle held various positions at the public accounting firm of BDO Seidman, LLP.
Gayle earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Temple University and was a Cum Laude graduate. Gayle is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Amanda Sweedler, MBA, Staff Accountant, Keystone Risk Partners. Amanda’s primary responsibilities include maintaining the books and records of the entities under management by Keystone’s captive manager, KRP Managers. Amanda also assists in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, tax returns and state regulatory filings for each of these entities.
Prior to joining Keystone, Amanda was a staff accountant with Brandywine Global Investment Management in Philadelphia, PA. During her tenure there, she provided assistance to the Financial Accounting manager with general accounting responsibilities for Brandywine’s domestic, intercompany and international operations.
Amanda earned her B.S. in Accounting from Drexel University, where she interned for the 2008 World Series Champions Philadelphia Phillies. Amanda also earned her MBA from LaSalle University.
